stuff this girl can do with paper

I was thinking of new ways to play with paper and my stamps.  I want to reach others with the same passion for paper crafting that I have. I think that many people, especially women, want to create.  I feel that many of them think they are not creative, or don't have the supplies to create. Well, I have both all the tools and I continue to learn new techniques all the time.   Then I thought, heck let's start a blog dedicated to all the fun classes I create.
This blog is for the crafty, the crafty at heart, and the wishful paper crafter.  I want to share my passion for stamps, paper, glue, and all things that shine! I will warn all readers now... I am not, I repeat NOT, a writer, nor do I claim to be.  So, you will have to excuse my run on sentences, misuse of proper grammar, and any spelling issues there may be.

Well, this is my first  class that I am posting.   What I do with my classes is teach 2 techniques, and we make 8 cards.  4 of each technique, and I usually spice things up by using different paper and colors with the same concept.  With this particular class we created 2 of each of the 4 cards you see.

This card is a easy die-cut card with a pocket.  I have added some cute birthday embellishments.
Write a greeting on the removable insert and stuff it with a favorite gift card for your birthday girl.

card size 31/2 by 5
(in the "business" we refer to this size as 4 bar--hey I don't know why I just do what I'm told)
**Happy birthday stamp, coastal cabana card stock and melon mambo card stock  by Stampin' up.  Pattern paper from Echo Park. embellishment by Michael's stores.
.

This card is the the exact same concept as the first, only in primary colors.  Stuff your gift card, and write your greeting on the removable insert.

Card size 3 1/2 by 5

**happy birthday stamp, real red twine, marina mist and pumpkin pie card stock by Stampin' up.  Pattern paper by The Paper Company
candle embellishments by Jolee's boutique.

This is a great easy shape card is unique as it doesn't open the traditional card way.  The card base is the crushed curry (yellow)-- the great part about this card, is that you don't have a big place to write on the inside... Perfect for those you want to wish happy birthday, but don't want to write a big long.... hope your day is great, blah blah blah message.

card size 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
The front of the card says:
"Youth is a circumstance you can't do anything about.  The trick is to grow up without getting old.
Happy Birthday"
the front of this card is distressed with Tim Holtz distresser, and inked with crushed curry ink. A few fun embellishments added to give it  a bit of a feminine look.
** stamp from Fiskars.  Embellishments from Michael's stores.  Card stock in crushed curry, and pear pizzazz from Stampin' Up.

This card is one of my favorites. It is so hard to find manly stamps.
This particular background stamp is from "Our Daily Bread"
and is one of my favorite stamp companies.  Their main focus is on bible verses.  I'm sure you will see much more from Our Daily Bread in upcoming blogs.

This card uses the same techniques as the one above. The image is stamped on a light tan pattern paper.  Yes, you can stamp on pattern paper, it adds an extra dimension to your image.   The edges are distressed with Tim Holtz distresser, and inked with baked brown sugar ink.

card size 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
(The business calls this size A2.  Again, I just do what I'm told)

** background stamp is from Our Daily Bread. Birthday stamp from Stampin' Up.  Baked brown sugar, and early espresso card stock and ink from Stampin Up.

I am playing with the idea of selling these cards after the classes are over.  If you are interested in purchasing a kit or the cards made in completion, Follow my blog via email, and I will contact you.

Blessings for a creative life!
Rachel
